What We Believe

Our Mission is to glorify God as we make disciple-making disciples of Jesus Christ.

"To glorify God…" No matter where we are or what we’re doing, this is the motivation for all that we do in our individual life and in our life together as a congregation.

"as we make…" The Great Commission (Matthew 28: 19-20) commands us to "go and make disciples" by baptizing and teaching obedience. We will introduce people to Christ, invite them to be baptized, and train them for a Christ-led life of loving God and neighbor.

"disciple-making…" Sharing the gospel is an act of multiplication, not just addition. We will intentionally train leaders who will also invite others to live obediently to Christ.

"disciples of Jesus Christ." Jesus is our Lord and master teacher. We are all students of his lifestyle and servants in his work.

This mission is the single, central organizing purpose behind everything we do. This is our standard for evaluating current and new programs and activities.

Jesus Christ is King, the Son of the Living God

Open Communion
The Lord’s Supper, or Communion is celebrated in weekly worship. It is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ.

Freedom of belief
We are called together around one essential of faith: belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as presented in the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed. In other theological matters, persons are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit study and prayer, and are expected to extend that freedom to others, even as we engage in healthy and loving debate. Unity and fellowship will not be broken over non-essential theological matters.

Baptism by immersion
In baptism the old self-centered life is set aside, and a new life of trust in Christ begins. Although we practice baptism by immersion, other baptism traditions are honored.

Belief in the oneness of the Church
All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.

The ministry of believers
Both ministers and lay persons lead in worship, service, and spiritual growth.
